SES

SES S.A. is a listed company in Luxembourg and on the Euronext in Paris as SESG. SES stands for Société Européenne des Satellites and was founded in March 1985. On 9 November 2001, SES Global S.A. was created following the takeover of GE Americom. As a result, it is now the largest commercial satellite operator worldwide. The group offers services in the field of distribution of television channels, radio stations, data transfer, telephony and access to the Internet via various satellites. SES S.A. is the umbrella organisation of SES Astra in Europe; SES Americom in the United States; and New Skies Satellites in Africa, South America, the Middle East and part of Asia. The group also owns shares in Ciel (70%) in Canada and Quetzsat (49%) in Mexico. SES S.A., previously SES Global, manages a fleet of 47 satellites worldwide.
