Redept advised the CBR on renting approximately 802 m² of office space, 50 parking spaces and approximately 1,600 m² terrain at Jan Tinbergenstraat 115 in Hengelo.
As of 1 October 2024, the CBR will open a new exam centre in Hengelo at this location and close the current exam centre in Enschede. This means that all theory exams, driving tests and practical exams for cars, motorcycles, mopeds, cars with trailers and taxis will from now on be taken in Hengelo.
Because the CBR places high demands on a new location in terms of accessibility by car and public transport and the large number of required parking spaces in combination with the requirement to be able to plot representative exam routes, Redept surveyed the market extensively in East Twente. This ultimately led to the choice of this new location. This representative office building is located on the Westermaat Campus business park, right on the A1. It is also easily accessible via various regional bus lines from the local area.
CBR will renovate the office building before occupancy so that it meets all its requirements. The parking lot will also be expanded, so that there is sufficient parking for exam vehicles and visitors.
At the CBR, the Dutch Central Driving Licence Office, more than 1,200 professionals work every day to ensure that everyone can safely participate in traffic. With that goal in mind, the CBR not only conducts traffic exams, but also tests whether a driver is mentally and physically capable of driving safely.
