To serve you even better, we support our processes with the digital signing of documents. Below we explain how you can digitally sign a document.
Open the email that you will receive. In the email you can see which document it concerns. Then click on the button in the middle of the email: Review and sign.
You will receive a notification about cookies at the bottom of your screen, in a green, eye-catching bar. You can accept this by means of the button: accept.
You can now scroll through the document. This way you can check the document.
You will automatically encounter the place where you have to sign. You can also find it by following the arrows on the left side of the document. If you click on this arrow, you will automatically arrive at the place of signature.
The boxes marked with an orange asterisk and yellow filler are for you to complete. This is often the signature box and the signature itself.
After you have filled in any text boxes (such as name, place and date), you can add your signature. You just click on the yellow square, indicated with “click here to sign“. As soon as you click on this, a new window will appear. You have several options for signing:
Are you satisfied with what your signature looks like? Then click on apply. You can then complete the document by clicking on the “click to sign” button.
After signing you will see a window stating that everything was successful.
You will also receive an email with the signed document, which you can download as a PDF and save in your digital file or print.
The evidential value depends on how well the signatory is identified in relation to the importance of the contract.
An agreement is concluded by offer and acceptance. This can be done verbally, on paper or electronically via the internet, as long as the parties show that they agree with the content of the agreement. Once everyone agrees to the agreement, it is binding and the parties must adhere to the content. When signatories express their agreement with an electronic signature, a legally binding and therefore legally valid agreement is created. So a legally valid agreement is quickly created. However, the evidential value of electronic documents may vary.
An electronic document is therefore legally valid and parties must adhere to its content. But what if a discussion arises and you end up in court? In that case, you can submit the electronically signed document to the court as evidence. The judge will almost always take this evidence into account in his judgement. The vast majority of disputes are about what is in the agreement and not whether there actually is an agreement.
