The British School in The Netherlands had been the leaseholder of the former photography school in Mariahoeve since 1999, a building that had subsequently housed a primary school for many years. After the building was demolished in 2021 and the site prepared for construction, the School intended to develop the location into an educational garden. However, the municipality showed interest in the site, and as a result of this, Redept negotiated a surrender of the long-term lease agreement with the municipality.
The British School in the Netherlands is an international school for girls and boys 3-18 years old and a thriving community with more than 80 nationalities.
