After Holland Casino announced its decision to close this location, Redept provided advisory services for the sale of this unique building on the Zandvoort boulevard.
Holland Casino Zandvoort was one of the most iconic casinos in the Netherlands. Opened in 1976 as the very first casino in the country, it was located in the heart of Zandvoort, offering a unique setting with panoramic sea views.
Its position right on the beach made it a one-of-a-kind location in the Netherlands. The casino was easily accessible by both car and public transport. Guests could make use of the underground car park with 110 spaces, which offered direct access to the casino.
The closure of Holland Casino Zandvoort is in line with Holland Casino’s broader strategy. This strategy focuses on reassessing the distribution of locations across the Netherlands in order to strengthen the company’s resilience and to continue investing in effective prevention policies.
A comprehensive due diligence was carried out in preparation for the sale. Redept managed this off-market transaction using Vendr, ensuring a well-structured and carefully executed sales process.
The casino building, covering approximately 2,700 m², along with the underground parking facility, was ultimately sold privately to the Municipality of Zandvoort. The sale followed a careful process, during which the municipality had previously established a pre-emption right on the Badhuisplein plots as part of an integrated redevelopment plan for the area, including a hotel, apartments, and various amenities.
Redept introduced different points of view - certainly in complex situations - which resulted in well-considered and thought-out solutions from all sides.
