Redept advised Holland Casino in the disposal of its former location in the centre of Groningen.
After the casino was completely destroyed and irreparably damaged by a fire in August 2017, Redept purchased a new location in 2023 where a permanent casino will be developed. As a result, this location on the Gedempte Kattendiep became redundant. Holland Casino in Groningen is currently housed in a temporary location at Sontplein.
The building plot in the centre of Groningen was sold to the municipality. The municipality of Groningen wishes to see the plots of land (including the adjacent existing parking garage) redeveloped for residential accommodation with a commercial plinth.
The municipality is currently investing in a facelift of the area around the old casino location. The nearby Schuitendiep will become a gem with beautiful (low) quays and plenty of living space. The Kattendiep will also get a good makeover with plenty of space for terraces.
The plots on the Gedempte Kattendiep have a total surface area of 2,145 m².
Redept introduced different points of view - certainly in complex situations - which resulted in well-considered and thought-out solutions from all sides.
