Tim Schelle, our graduate that recently graduated cum-laude in Real Estate Management at the TU Eindhoven is the winner of a year’s work at the Government Buildings Service (RGD). The RGD announced this yesterday at the PROVADA where the three finalists presented their essays with their vision on the return on real estate.<\/p>\n
Via a competition young talent was challenged to provide an innovative vision in maximum 500 words on the question ‘How can the RGD ensure a better return on its government real estate?’ The jury, lead by Farid Azarkan, director Real Estate of the RGD, nominated three studnets that presented their essays on the government stand at the PROVADA. \u00a0The jury reacted there and then and the winner was announced. Schelle won with his essay with the stimulating title \u2018Return on real estate: Towards the new normal\u2019. Schelle reacted elatedly: \u2018This is fantastic. I hope to learn a lot in the coming year at the RGD. Two years ago I organised a real estate symposium where I became inspired by the story that Eva Klein Schiphorst told and I have continued to follow the RGD. My idea for the essay arose from my dissertation on Corporate Real Estate Management (CREM).\u2019 Jury chairman Farid Azarkan on the winner: \u2018He showed in his essay how you can manage a large portfolio by dividing it into manageable chunks whereby you can focus on what to do with properties. \u00a0That connects with the working methods of the RGD. Additionally the jury was impressed that he referred to the focus on real estate as wealth as well as the focus on social return. He obviously delved into the subject matter and was able to bring this into his presentation.\u2019<\/p>\n
