Redept searched for a suitable new location in this region and considered various options. However, given the required combination of office space, warehouse, outdoor storage and parking facilities \u2013 essential for Liander's activities as a grid operator \u2013 it was ultimately decided to expand and extend the current location.  This was made possible by the owner's willingness to proactively terminate the lease with a third party tenant, allowing Alliander to rent the entire building. Redept negotiated a new long-term lease with the owner, enabling Alliander to extend the building and create the necessary additional space. Coare developed a new design, which also takes into account Alliander's sustainability ambitions.  The work will start in October 2024 and the building will be put into use in the second quarter of 2025. Redept negotiated market-conform conditions and supervised the contract forming in collaboration with lawyers, Dirkzwager. After years of searching, Alliander can finally look forward to a permanent location to meet the challenges of the energy transition in the Leiden region in an efficient and cost-effective way."}
